FAQ

When does the event start and end?
Athlete check in is normally from 8-9:15 AM with the first WOD starting at 10 AM.
What do I have to be able to do for each division?
Rx Teams

  • Chest to Bar Pull Ups
  • Wall Balls to a 10 foot target: 20/14
  • Push Press: 135/95
  • Kettlebell Swings: 70/53
  • Hand Stand Pushups
  • Double Unders
  • Dead Lift: 275/185

Scaled Teams

  • Pullups
  • Wall Balls to a 10 foot target: 14/10
  • Push Press: 95/50
  • Kettlebell Swings: 53/35
  • Pushups
  • Single Unders

All Scaled Flex athletes can scale standards further during competition; however, scaling any movement disqualifies a team from being eligible to win.

Strive Teams

All new for 2014 is the Strive Division. Strive is for athletes not comfortable with movements in the scaled division to experience the thrill of a big-time team competition. The WODs are similar to the Scaled Division except you can scale them however you need to. No scoring. No winners. It doesn’t matter if you are brand new to CrossFit or have 6 years under your belt-all are welcome to participate. What are you waiting for? Experience Flex like never before. Register today!

Do all team members have to be from the same gym?
Nope. Your teammates can be from as many gyms as you want.
What if it rains?
You’ll get wet. In the rare case of really, really bad weather that results in hazardous conditions we may be forced to cancel an event. If an event is cancelled your registration will be valid for a future Flex Event. Details about how to register for free to a future Flex Event will be provided by email to the email address you used when you registered for the cancelled event.
Can I bring my dog?
That depends on the venue. Some venues do not allow dogs. For more information, few the details for each event. A list of all events can be found here.
Should I register an Rx, Scaled, or Party team?
As a general rule we suggest picking a division based on your third fittest athlete. If that athlete consistently completes Rx WODs, your team should register in the Rx division. As a general guideline, if your athletes can easily deadlift 225/155 lbs (Male/Female), your team should register in the Rx division. If those weights seem like a stretch, go Scaled. Our WODs are challenging but are not too heavy for most good CrossFit athletes. If you are leaning towards Rx, go Rx. Please use the “Flex Events” drop down menu near the top of every page to learn more about the WODs included for a specific Flex Event.

Party teams do the same WODs as Scaled but can use what ever weights and “standards” they want. It’s basically a division for beginners. The teams can also be any mix of gender- they don’t require a team of two men and two women.
